Guthrie Industrial Group

A defensible number on paper changes every conversation that follows.

Guthrie Industrial Group leads every engagement with documented valuation — then builds the disposition strategy, acquisition path, or facility exit entirely around what those figures actually say, not what either party hoped they would.

How we work

Every engagement Guthrie Industrial Group takes begins from the same premise: before a disposition path is chosen, before capital moves toward an acquisition, before a facility exit gets underway, the assets in question need a documented number behind them. Not an estimate. Not a range pulled from memory. A written, defensible conclusion that can travel into any room and hold its ground. That means appraisal work comes first. Guthrie produces formal written valuations — fair market, orderly liquidation, and forced sale conclusions — covering assets across industrial manufacturing in its full breadth. The client might be an ownership group evaluating a plant transition, a lending institution assessing collateral exposure, or an operator who wants a credible floor established before the first buyer conversation begins. In each case, the appraisal precedes everything else. The conclusions are documented, supportable, and built to survive scrutiny. Disposition planning flows from that foundation. Guthrie commits its own capital to direct equipment purchases — structured for sellers who require a clean exit, fast, without contingencies or extended timelines hanging over the close. Where the asset profile, volume, or circumstances favor a different path, we arrange and oversee consignment placements, directing machinery toward vetted buyers through a North American reach and an active global buyer network. Auction formats and managed liquidation programs round out the options — particularly suited to situations where a firm endpoint and competitive recovery take priority over a prolonged private process. The equipment categories we work across cover the full production environment. Automation systems, fabrication machinery, and precision grinding represent our deepest concentration — but scope is not a constraint. We handle extrusion systems, injection molding equipment, blow molding machinery, thermoforming lines, rotational molding, rubber and silicone processing, CNC machining, Swiss-style turning, wire EDM, sinker EDM, metal stamping, die casting, complete mold libraries, proprietary product lines, and tool and die holdings. Acquisition work runs alongside disposition. Guthrie identifies and evaluates specific equipment for manufacturers whose production requirements demand precision in the search itself. We represent buyers pursuing the right asset at a number their organization can stand behind — and we do the legwork to locate it. Where the transaction encompasses the business itself, Guthrie handles complete business sales and full facility transfers as unified engagements. Contracts, real property, and machinery and equipment move together under a single coordinated process — one point of accountability for sellers who cannot afford fragmented advisors working at cross-purposes.

The Guthrie difference

Guthrie Industrial Group takes its name from the domain, and the operating philosophy behind that name is straightforward: equipment is a capital asset, and capital assets deserve a written valuation before anyone decides what to do with them. That conviction is not a differentiator we invented for a pitch deck — it is the reason the firm exists. Most equipment decisions are made in the wrong order. A seller picks a channel, a buyer names a number, and the appraisal, if it appears at all, arrives as an afterthought. Guthrie was built to reverse that sequence. We establish documented value first — across automation and auxiliary systems, fabrication machinery, grinding cells, and every other discipline on the production floor — and only then choose the path that the numbers actually support. That might be an outright purchase, a consignment placement, an auction, a private sale, or a complete business exit. The figures decide; the strategy follows. This approach serves a specific client: the manufacturer, lender, or ownership group for whom the transaction genuinely matters — where a soft number or a conflicted advisor costs real money. Guthrie does not manufacture urgency, pad valuations to win listings, or steer clients toward the transaction channel that benefits the firm rather than the asset. The appraisal desk and the sales function operate from the same set of facts, and those facts are in writing. North America is our operating geography. A global buyer network extends the reach of every engagement beyond it.
